Public holiday tatting - WIP

Singapore celebrates 50 years of independence today.

Watched the National Day Parade with the family at home - something I don't really remember doing since Mom passed more than ten years ago (I used to watch the parade at home with mom when I was younger). It was nice :)

Lotsa sales, special offers and promotions going on over the weekend too of which I'm plotting on taking advantage of tomorrow. :)

In the meantime, sharing some tatting (with my new tatting buddy) - working on a vintage doiley pattern :) Dad has asked me to tat a doiley for my grand uncle (don't be deceived he's younger than my father in one of those bizarre large family things that used to happen loads lol). Hope he likes it when it's done!

Long drawn WIP

Wow. It's been a year and I'm still on this doiley!

I'm finally on the second last row (I think)!

Progress

Some progress has been made on my doiley. I'm a little frustrated at the thread. Whilst it's great to tat with I've so far discovered one 'tie off' (like where the thread might had been cut and reconnected with a knot) and one dead knot n the ball. It was quite frustrating - perhaps it's also my fault for not checking before I wound my shuttle - I had to unpick enough so that I could cut off the shuttle, cut off the knot from the shuttle and then rejon the thread back in.

Does anyone else have this problem? Particularly with the DMC 80s?

And of course... LAST CALL TO SIGN UP FOR MY SECRET SHUTTLE EXCHANGE! The link can be found on the left bar!

I'm so blessed for all the participants!
